Come Follow Christ

Care Team

 Charge Conference Report 2018

An opportunity to share God’s Word and love.

The CARE TEAM of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church has the following objective:

Reach out to the infirm and homebound, people in time of need or loss, and those who need encouragement through celebratory events, prayers, cards, and visitations.

We continue to reach out to a group of  people in the community who are unable to attend our church  by holding a small worship service for patients at a local facility that provides assisted living where needed, FOX TRAIL. Our pastor serves Communion for the people once a month and the others lead the worship the first three Sundays of each month and any fifth Sunday; the patients especially enjoy having the pastor with us for Communion.

The team provides a lunch with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and other foods for the residents and staff once or twice a year. We provide holiday treats and cards made by the Sunday School students during the year as well. The residents definitely derive great pleasure from the  cards made by the children.

People make phone calls and hospital visits to those who are incapacitated at any time a well as visiting with the families and providing support for them. And there are always cards sent to boost the spirits of those in a time of trials to show that they are in our thoughts.

The CARE Team continues to be  an important part of the ministry of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and the people who are part of the group are very blessed by being able to share God’s love inside and outside of the church.
