Come Follow Christ

Care Team

An opportunity to share God’s Word and love.

The CARE TEAM of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church has the following objective:

Reach out to the infirm and homebound, people in time of need or loss, and those who need encouragement through celebratory events, prayers, cards, and visitations.

One of our major ministries is to reach out to people who are unable to attend our church by holding a small worship service for patients at a local home that provides assisted living.  Our pastor gives Communion for the people once a month, a very much appreciated service.  The activity has been very well received and God has blessed the team members as much, if not more, as the patients.

As well as providing worship experiences, our Sunday School classes make a card during the holidays for each of the residents. They often present the cards during special visits that often include refreshments or even a meal made and served by different church members.  Cards for birthdays and other special occasions as well as for illnesses and times of loss and stress are sent to those in our church family during the year by one of our members.  We do phone calls, home visits and hospital visits to our church members to share the love of our Lord and Savior.

The CARE Team is an important part of the ministry of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and the people who are part of the group are very blessed by being able to share God’s love with others.
